Louisa Jane Hoar, the eldest daughter of Wm. and Elizabeth Hoar was born in Devenshire, England Nov 27, 1847 and departed this life April 30 1936 at the age of 88 years, five months and two days. When one year old she was brought by her parents to the United States. She spent her early life in Eastern Iowa. She was united in marriage to Denmond Mander, January 1, 1867. Shortly after their marriage they moved to near Onawa, Iowa. To this union eight children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband and three of her children, Sarah Ellen, William, Lillie Bell. Survivors are three sons, Albert and Leonard of Whiting, Ed of Onawa: also two daughters Mrs Lulu Quint of South Sioux City Nebr,. Mrs Clara Anderson of Walthill, Neb, also one sister, Mrs Emily Drummond, of Lyons, Nebr and a brother, George Hoar of Grand Island, Nebr. She leaves 27 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was a member of the Christian church at Whiting, Iowa and a kind and loving mother. Funeral services were in charge of the McVey funeral home of Whiting and conducted in the Whiting Christian Church. Burial took place in the Whiting cemetery. M.C. Miller pastor of the Whiting Church was the officiating minister.
