Dan grew up lived most of his life Kalamazoo. He graduated in 1974 from Dawntreader Alternative Highschool. He served a short time in the military and was honorably discharged. In 1995 he married Cheryl Koerts and together they welcomed Gabrielle Rose into the world. Dan had a great love for nature, dogs, computers, and adventures. He was a truck driver by trade. He loved his Harley and loved to ride. But, there was nothing that compared to his dedication to his son, daughter, and service to the Lord. Dan was a devoted member of the Kalamazoo First Assembly of God Church. Diagnosed with kidney cancer his initial response was concern for his daughter and yet eager to serve the Lord in whatever came his way. His faith never waivered... Surviving are his son Daniel, his daughter Gabrielle, and his grand daughter Amber. He was a much loved husband, father and grandfather and we will all miss him terribly. Garry was the ultimate outdoorsman. He was happiest sharing his love of nature with his family and friends and spent many happy hours hunting, fishing, enjoying nature and sharing his knowledge of the outdoors. He was also an accomplished jack of all trades and spent many hours helping his family doing carpentry, mechanical work and anything else that was needed. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Karolyn, daughters Kim Hoard of Thunder Bay and Patricia Belliveau (Brian) of Bruderheim, AB and their children Saara and Erika. He was so proud of all of them! Also mourning his loss is his brother Doug Hoard (Betty), sister June Norkooli, both of Thunder Bay and sister Elaine Canellos (Steve) of Sherwood Park, AB and their families. In addition, surviving are many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his many special hunting and fishing partners, particularly his friend Art Lawrence. Garry started his career with Acklands-Grainger in 1963 as a truck driver and continued to work his way up to become one of their most successful and respected Sales Representatives in Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba. He was very proud that he had worked for the same company for over 40 years. His illness forced him to stop working at the end of 2004, but he kept in close contact with his coworkers, often dropping by for coffee. Predeceased by mother Doris in 1997 and father Ralph in 1983, and very recently by cousin Elmer Tozer who was like a brother to him. PORTLAND - Kathleen "Kathy" Bennett, 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, after a period of declining health. She was born in Portland on June 28, 1951. Diagnosed with diabetes at the age of seven was only the beginning of her continuous medical conditions. She will always be remembered for her positive outlook and her sense of humor. With all that she has been through she never complained and would always live life to the fullest.
Kathy enjoyed the simple things in life such as spending time with her family and friends, playing Bingo, crosswords, feeding the ducks, and of course her afternoon drives. Christmas was her favorite holiday; she looked forward to having the family all together as well as spoiling her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxilliary Amvets Post 25 and the Harold T. Andrewws Post 17 Women's Auxilliary.
Kathy was the youngest of four children born to Wallace E. and Mildred I. Jackson. She was predeceased by both parents; and brother, Peter J. Jackson of Westbrook. Surviving are her brother, Ronald C. Jackson of Henderson, Nev., and sister, Susan G. Jackson Giusti of Portland.

Kathy leaves behind her companion/best friend of 37 years, Lawrence "Larry" Graffam. Larry has been there by her side through the ups and downs and obstacles that she had indured; as well as a father figure to her children and a grandfather to her grandchildren.

Obituary:
http://passages.winnipegfreepress.com/passage-details/id-109497/name-Sheryl_Hoard/
SHERYL MARY HOARD Sheryl was born November 6, 1946 in Kindersley, S.K. and passed away peacefully after a brief illness on June 13, 2006 surrounded by her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through her children, Sean (Wendy) Post, Kristen (Gary) Eisenstein, Leslie (Jim) Banman and Cliff (Deb) Purse. Her grandchildren, Corinne, Rebecca, Josh, Jill, Cait, Patti, Christopher, Derek, Christine, Ryan, Alissia and Brock. She is survived by her parents, Jean and Vince Hoard, as well as her siblings, Wayne (Suzanne), Bev (Roland), Deb, Len (Alvina), Brenda (Ed), Delores, her brother-in-law Jack Purse, as well as extended family members and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend Jim Purse. Sheryl began her working years as a teacher in Winnipeg before embarking on a 25 year career with the Public Service Commission, which led her to Victoria as a Classification Officer with the Department of National Defence. She worked with many fine people and developed special friendships along the way. Her love of learning and reading was instilled in her children and grandchildren. Sheryl always had a book within quick reach and could often be seen cuddling with her beloved grandkids sharing a story or two. It was her organizational skills and thirst for information that made Sheryl the family historian. Her belief of family unity meant tireless efforts to coordinate large-scale family reunions. The quest to research the ties that bind led her to find and keep in contact with relatives around the world as well as successfully trace the family history back to 1066 A.D with the Norman conquest. Sheryl had a sense of adventure that allowed her to explore new ideas and places. Everything from painting, ice fishing, kissing the Blarney Stone in Ireland and visits to far-away vineyards for wine-tasting experiences (or better yet, making wine with the Corks and Caps Wine Group). Sheryl was truly happiest when family and friends could gather over a glass of wine, a plate of food, or a venture on weekly group walks. She had a genuine interest in everyone's lives, always listened, offered advice and a shoulder to lean on. She had a deep and sincere love for her family and friends. First to cheer victories and accomplishments, first to lend her assistance, comfort and support. She had been called my Rock by many and will be dearly missed by all. Flowers are gratefully declined, but donations in Sheryl's memory can be made to Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation, Royal Jubilee Hospital, 1952 Bay Street, Victoria B.C. V8R 1J8 or the B.C. Cancer Foundation, Suite 200-601 West Broadway Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 4C2. A celebration of Sheryl's life will be held at a later date. We give our love and appreciation to Mary, Sharon, Bob and Betty whom Sheryl and her family heavily leaned on. Sincerest thanks to her guardian angels at Victoria Hospice, who formed the bridge to support Sheryl's journey.

Olive Lillian Lookabill, 84, of International Falls, died at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, Minn., Dec. 25, 2006.

Lois Hoar
Each Monday, the Kenosha News takes a look at the life of a Kenosha County resident who recently died. We share with you, through the memories of family and friends, a life remembered.
BY DIANE GILES
All her life, Lois Hoar's birthday was always an occasion to celebrate, and family and friends always made it special.
Her life was all wrapped up in the No. 22. Her birthday was on the 22nd of July; she was born in 1922; and her husband Bob's birthday was on Sept. 22.
She'd play 22 at the casino and would win more than her share of chips. Family members dubbed her "Lucky Lois."
"Her birthday was always so important to her; that was the way it was her whole life," said her daughter Peggy Gallery. "We used to joke that there were only so many shopping days left to Lois' birthday. She was so into it."
But this year she never had the chance to open her birthday cards.
At her memorial service on July 26, mourners sang "Happy Birthday" to their loved one, as Lois had exited this world before they had the chance to sing to her.
Lois Jordan Hoar passed away on her 88th birthday at South Winds Assisted Living Center in Kenosha. She is survived by her three children, Peggy Gallery, Robert I. Hoar Jr., and Mary Smith; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine Dresen.
Raised by grandmother
Born in Racine, Lois Jordan's early life was difficult, but stable. Her mother Elizabeth died in her 20s, leaving Lois and her three sisters - all under 10 years old - to be raised by their loving Grandma Jordan.
"I don't know how they would have made it without that grandma, and that's all Lois ever talked about for her whole life, even into her last years," Gallery said.
Lois was able to hang onto two items from her childhood: her precious doll and a small end table that belonged to her grandmother. Both were in her room when she died.
Career in teaching
She graduated from Park High School in Racine and went on to graduate from the Milwaukee State Teachers College in 1945.
She married Irving Peterson in 1945, and after the birth of their two children, Michael and Mary, they divorced.
She was a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School before transferring to the new Forest Park Elementary School when it opened in 1957.
During the summers, she and fellow Forest Park teacher and friend Fooney Yuen would travel to a resort up north to work in the kitchen there.
She later married Robert I. Hoar in 1961. They were married 26 years before he died in 1997.
Lois and Bob built a home one block from Forest Park School and Lois could walk to work.
Flying adventures
Bob, who had been a pilot in World War II, had his pilot's license and owned a Cessna in a partnership with several other Kenoshans. It gave them the opportunity to fly to many places, and their interest in aviation took them to the Experimental Aircraft Association Fly-In in Oshkosh each year.
In 1971 the couple retired and moved to Tempe, Ariz. Lois returned to school to take classes in medical transcription. She became a ward clerk at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.
Once while at work at the hospital, a prestigious doctor walked up to her and introduced himself. He had recognized her as his second-grade teacher.
Lois loved to travel, and the couple made trips to England, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and all over the southwestern United States.
She loved to garden and was a member of the Four Seasons Garden Club and the Saguaro Garden Club.
After her husband's death, Lois continued to live in Mesa. She made the move into an assisted living facility a few years before her move back to Kenosha and into South Winds Assisted Living Center.

Her sister's obituary:

Ronald Wayne Hoar (1938-2012)
Melbourne, FL ? Ronald W. Hoar 73, of Melbourne, FL and Rangeley, ME passed away of natural causes in Melbourne while on an afternoon run. Ron was an avid runner and competed in many races, including marathons, over the last 40+ years.
Ron was born in Farmington, Maine on August 4, 1938, a son of Allison and Frances Luger Hoar and was a graduate of Farmington High School and the University of Maine Orono. At UMO, he was manager of the college radio station and after college spent a year in radio before moving on to a career in banking and consumer credit, first with Depositor's Trust in Augusta and then relocating to J.C. Penney headquarters in Dallas, TX.
After retirement in 1999, Ron and wife Pam moved to a new home in Windover Farms, Melbourne, FL. A variety of retirement projects kept him busy. Ron was involved in the start-up of community radio station WFHA in Windover Farms. As a volunteer announcer, he became very popular with Little League players by recording the play-by-play at their games and broadcasting the games later in the week for the players to hear about themselves on radio. Ron's joy for coming to Maine in the summer and his love for Rangeley, first settled by his ancestors, was the inspiration for "clearing the land" and building a vacation home overlooking Rangeley Lake. And then came the opportunity to volunteer in the formation and operation of WGIY community radio in Rangeley.
