Leah (Pellerin) Landry, 91, died Monday, Sept. 25, 1995, at D'Youville Manor Nursing Home in Lowell, Mass.
Mrs. Landry was an accomplished writer and had been a news correspondent and contributing author for several Greater Lowell weekly publications. She held membership in the Poetry Society of New Hampshire.
She was a resident of the former St. Peter Parish in Lowell during most of her lifetime.
Born April 14, 1904 in Epping, she was a daughter of the late Narcisse and the late Alphonsene (Baillargeon) Pellerin. She was educated in the Epping area.
She was the widow of the late William N. Landry.
She was also the widow of the late Louie Richard and the mother of the late William F. Landry.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond W. Landry of Nashua and Richard J. Landry of Shirley, Mass.; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Hoar of Lowell and Mrs. Lorraine Cormier of Dracut, Mass.; a sister, Mrs. Dora Doyon of Manchester; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The McDonough Funeral Home in Lowell is in charge of arrangmeents.

Deceased Name: Faith Marie 'Fay' Landry
Faith Marie 'Fay' (Gilbert) Landry, 78, of Nashua, New Hampshire, died Friday, September 17, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua after a brief illness. She was the wife of Raymond W. Landry. She was the last surviving sibling of four children, Lewis Richter, Ruth Smith and Hope Cummings.
Born July 26, 1932, in Auburn, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Philip and the late Frances (Lumiansky) Gilbert, and was educated in Auburn, Maine, graduating from Edward Little High School in Auburn. She then made her home in Hudson, Maynard, and Lowell Massachusetts before residing in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Fay loved music, especially jazz, and enjoyed gardening, nature and all animals. She was a Brownie leader in Maynard, MA and a CCD Teahcer for St. Michael's Parish in Hudson, MA.
She formerly owned and operated Faith Landry Fine Arts, and was one of the first employees of Digital Corporation in Maynard and she enjoyed the companionship of her beloved sassafrass poodle, "Whimsey". But most of all, she adored her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Raymond, she is survived by her daughter, Patricia Marie Landry of Ipswich, and her son, William Hewett and his wife, Lynne, of Lakeville; her grandchildren, Colin J. Landry-Stanton of Gloucester, Kristen Hewett of Lakeville, Sean Hewett and Jason Hewett; her sisters in law, Lorraine Cormier of Lowell, Pauline Hoar of Lowell, and Eva Landry of Reno, Nevada; her brother in law, Richard Landry and his wife, Marcia, of Littleton; her beloved nieces and nephews, Christine Brzocowski, Pamela, David and Frank Smith, Barbara Wicklman, John Cummings, Evelyn Clayton, Anita Ward, Dianne Jordan, Constance Dinsmore, Michael, Thomas and Dennis Hoar, Charles, William, Leo, and Richard Cormier, and David Landry.
She was the sister in law of the late Charlie Cormier, the late George Hoar, the late William Landry, and aunt of the late Paul Smith.
You are invited to her calling hours from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. On Wednesday, her funeral will begin at 8: 30 a.m. at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816. Prior to that, she taught at School 56 in the Indianapolis Public School System for seven years. Judy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. She graduated from Vincennes University and Purdue University and had earned a master's degree in education from Indiana University.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Kevin A. Farrell; daughter, Kerry Farrell of Indianapolis; two sons, Patrick and Timothy Farrell of Indianapolis; son-in-law, Matthew Hoar of Indianapolis; parents, Harold E. and Helen M. (Howarth) Allen of Vincennes; siblings and their spouses, Sandra and Don Ernst of Indianapolis, James and Minnie Allen of Valparaiso, Fla., and Kenneth and Lesa Allen of Elizabethtown, Ky.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Acquinas Catholic Church, of which she is a member. The celebrants will be the Rev. James Farrell and the Rev. William Munshower.
Friends may greet the family from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, in Indianapolis.

Jean was born May 2 1923 in Sutton the daughter of William and Mary (Moriarty) McGee, raised and lived there 30 years moving to Grafton 44 years ago. Mrs. Cuthbertson was an inspector for 15 years at Neles-Jamesbury Corp. in Worcester retiring in 1988. She was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church, a member of it's Women's Guild, a choir member and assisted with the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. James. She was also a member of The Daughters of Isabella and its St. Margaret's Circle, Forest Lane Assoc. (Past Pres.), Senior Citizens of Grafton (Past Pres.) and former activities director at The Grafton Senior Center. Jean also organized many trips for seniors under the name of Jean's Travelers. All are invited to calling hours Monday March 24th from 4 to 8 pm in Roney Funeral Homes North Grafton Chapel, 152 Worcester St. North Grafton. Her funeral will be held Tuesday March 25th at 9:15 am from Roney Funeral Homes North Grafton Chapel, followed by the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am in The Parish Church of St. James, 89 Main St. in South Grafton. Mrs. Marchsteiner is also survived by her grandson Matthew Joseph Diffenbaugh and several nieces and nephews.

Beverly Jean (nee: Miller) Wood, age 80, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2012, at Brookside Care Center surrounded by her family.
Bev was the daughter of the late George T. and Cora I. (Welbourn) Miller and was born on May 30, 1931, in Kenosha. She attended Roosevelt Grade School, Lincoln Junior High and Mary D. Bradford High School. In high school, the Kenosha News named her Keen Teen.
She was married to Billy J. Wood on August 11, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Beverly worked for Dr. Anthony DeFurio and Benson Oil.
She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society as well as the Catholic Women's League. She enjoyed bowling as a part of the Thursday Morning Koffee Klutch League. At family gatherings everyone waited for her brownies, chip dip, fried chicken and sweet tea. Her grandchildren remember playing cards with her as well as having sleepovers where they would watch "Adventures in Babysitting" and eat popcorn in their special TV room.
She was survived by her three sons, Thomas Wood (Rae Ann Kevek) of Franklin, WI, Jerry A. Wood and BG Wood, both of Kenosha; her grandchildren Abbigail (Paul Hampton), Jennifer (Paul Runnoe), Lauren, Mackenzie, Jarrett, and Jordan; and great grandchild, Maxwell Hampton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Wood; her siblings, Avis M. Hoar and George "Ted" Miller.

A 1973 Mercer High School graduate, she belonged to the Chorus and Flag Football Clubs. After moving to Erie, she worked for Elby's Big Boy for 25 years and most recently for the Sunflower Club for 15 years. Brenda enjoyed baking and making crafts with her grandchildren and looked forward to movie nights and fun times at the casino with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, survivors include a daughter, Michelle Lynn Przybylski of Erie; a son, Eric Steven Przybylski of Erie; two sisters, Kimberly Dembec of Mercer, Pa. and Lynne Hoar of Ontario, Canada; two brothers, Gary Cozad and wife Barbara of Mercer, Pa. and Allen Cozad and wife Joan of Grove City, Pa.; three granddaughters, Breanne Elizabeth Przybylski, Kayla Jolie Kobylinski and Aurora Jade Przybylski-Radicella, all of Erie; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family. May she rest in peace with her husband of 32 years, Steven R. Przybylski, who passed away in 2006. NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. ? Jane Marie (Handley) Carrigg, 63, of North Hampton, N.H., passed away peacefully Monday morning, Jan. 3, 2011 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, from complications due to early-onset Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Lowell, in 1947, Jane was the daughter of the late John M. and Gertrude A. (McKeon) Handley. She graduated from Merrimack College, Class of 1968 and, after raising four children, went on to open a popular women's clothing store in Newburyport. In addition to being a successful business, Market Flair also led to many close friendships and became Jane's passion for over 20 years. In her store and in her life Jane was known for her generosity and, especially, her sense of humor. Jane was also a runner, a tennis player, a lover of animals most especially her faithful Shih-Tzu, Mo, who was always at her side.
In addition to her husband of 42 years, Robert F. Carrigg of North Hampton, N.H., she is survived by her children, Lisa A. (Mrs. David C.) Cancel of Amesbury, her son, Robert F. Carrigg, Jr., of Portsmouth, N.H., Kelly J. (Mrs. Nelson E.) Walker of Epping, N.H., and Ryan M. Carrigg of Cambridge. Her beloved granddaughter, Caralena Jane Cancel of Amesbury, remembers her grandmother with a smile. Jane is further survived by her brothers, John M. Handley, III, and Joseph E. Handley of Chelmsford; and her sister, Julie A. Handley (Mrs. Charles) Hoar. Extended family, friends and countless Market Flair patrons will miss her dearly.

Miss Beuerlein was born in Dansville May 6, 1959, a daughter of Robert and Jean Brooks Beuerlein. She was a graduate of Mount Morris Central School and was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Mount Morris.
Surviving are three sisters, Patricia (Charles) Cagwin of Le Roy, Nancy (Robert) Horr of South Carolina and Alice Hoffschneider of Mount Morris; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St., (Route 408) Mount Morris. Interment of Ashes will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Union City. Aletha (Murch) Hawk. She graduated from Bronson High School and married Merle McNett on August 4, 1934 in Angola, IN. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1997.Mrs. McNett worked at the LA Darling Company in Bronson from 1933 to 1968. She then went to work for Max Larsen until 1998 and continued to serve as the trustee for his estate. Florence was a member of the First Congregational Church in Union City, a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Coldwater chapter, UCT and an honorary alumni of Howe Military School as well as the Herrick Fellow Society of Howe School. She enjoyed music, card playing and working with various philanthropic organizations.Florence is survived by her daughter Barbara (Robert) Brott of Union City, her sister Wanda Hoard of Bronson, her grandchildren Jeffrey (Teena) Brott of Sherwood, James (Laura) Brott of Sturgis, her great grandchildren Steve, Doug and Katelyn Brott. Mrs. Abbott was born June 10, 1914, in Klamath Falls to Deloss and Estelle (Oneil) Barnett. She was a high school graduate. She married Gilbert Abbott on Dec. 3, 1932, in Hillsboro. She formerly lived in Coos Bay for 31 years. While there, she owned Gibbs Trailer Services. Mrs. Abbott enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, running her business, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter in North Bend and the Business and Professional Women of Coos Bay.
Survivors include her daughters, Wilma Krusmark of Klamath Falls and Carol Shaw of Eugene; son, John Abbott of Springfield; brothers, Eugene Barnett of Aloha and Wilfred Barnett of Hillsboro; sister, Melva Hoar of Yakima, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 11, 1984, and a son, Norman Abbott in 1937.

GAINSVILLE, Va. - Armina J. Hudson, 81, died at 5 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2010, in Gainesville, Va., at the Gainesville Health and Rehab Center.
She was born on May 2, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Jesse Bulick and Margaret (Dalby) Bulick.
Armina was devoted wife of 52 years to Milo R. Hudson, who preceded her death in September 2005.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to her daughter, Mrs. Daphne Hudson Borda of Haymarket, Va.; her four grandchildren, David, Thomas, Rose and Susan; and she has 10 great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her sister, Arretta Rocco, of Lewistown.
Mrs. Hudson was one of five children, three of which preceded her death.
They were Anna Hoar, of Yeagertown, Jess Bulick, of Yeagertown and Ronald Bulick, of Lewistown.
Armina was previously employed by the Lewistown Hospital in Central Supply.
She was a past member of the Burnham Church of the Brethren, a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and an animal lover.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., in Lewistown with the Rev. George Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Birch Hill Cemetery in Yeagertown.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at the funeral home.

Geraldine Elaine DeMarrias Kills Crow was born to Alvina A. Clifford and Gerald V. Bush in Pine Ridge on Nov. 3, 1935. She grew up in Kyle, attending all 12 years of school at Holy Rosary.
Geraldine married Richard K. DeMarrias and had five children: Marlene C. DeMarrias Brown of Rapid City, Richard C. DeMarrias (deceased), Alvina M. DeMarrias of Rochester, Minn., Sharon M. DeMarrias Brinkman of Aberdeen, and Kathy L. DeMarrias and Lake Andes, and one adopted daughter, Avis A. Hanson-Little Eagle of McLaughlin.
She later married Josiah Kills Crow (deceased).
Geraldine loved being a wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed baking, cooking and feeding everyone. She loved laughter, singing and family, and was a gospel singer for about 10 years. She was a good woman who shared her heart and joy with everyone she encountered.
She was a great joy to have around and will be missed by everyone, including her children, 19 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much. Also surviving are her siblings, YeVonne Bush Reddy of Yankton, Doreen Bush-Hogan (deceased), twin brothers, Fred V. Bush Sr. of Rapid City, and John M. Bush Sr. of Martin, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.

Halifax Herald December 01, 2005 BROWN, Rev. Wilena G. - Passed away peacefully November 23, 2005, in hospital at Stratford, Ont. Born August 9, 1929, and raised in Kemptown, she attended Colchester County Academy and then one year at Mount Alison University. She transferred to Victoria College in Toronto where she received her B.A., then attended Emmanuel Theological College and obtained her B.D. (Bachelor of Divinity). Ordained to the ministry of the United Church of Canada in 1953, she was one of the early women ministers in the church. She was ordained by the Maritime Conference. She was transferred to Alberta and settled in Consort where she stayed for four years. It was her first experience of treeless land and roads that were sometimes impossible to use after heavy rain or snow. She was about a 100 miles away from a city - Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon were about equal distances. She moved to Edmonton in 1957 as assistant at Robertson United Church, and remained there for four years. She then went to Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey where she obtained her Master of Theology degree (Th.M.) in Pastoral Theology. Following this she returned to Toronto where she did some work at Forest Hill United Church and in the United Church Head Office. During these years, she also struggled with the congenital heart condition which recurred from time to time throughout her life. In 1975, with improved health, she moved to Bluevale-Whitechurch, Ont., where she stayed for four years. In 1979 she moved to Varna-Goshen where she stayed until 1986. Her last Pastoral Charge was Mellbank-Hampstead, where she moved in 1986 and stayed until her health deteriorated again in early 1991 and she retired to Stratford. Arthritis had become an additional problem by then and shortly she moved to Hamilton to be involved in testing the new drug Celebrex. In 2000, she returned to Stratford and resided at Woodland Towers Seniors residence. In the early years of retirement she wrote a book and ""Faithstyles in Congregations"" was published in 1994. Wilena belonged to a large family and was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Rachel Brown. Four brothers and three sisters have passed on, Albert (Stella), Andrew (Elsie), Fred (Audrey), Donald, Margaret (Fulton) Hoare, Gertrude (Jim) Hilder, and Jean (Samuel) Shaw. She was a loving sister who will be sadly missed by Alexander (Julie), Chase, B.C.; Ed (Leona), Fort Lawrence; Marian (the late Charles) Scott, Riverview, N.B.; Bertha (Arthur) Langille, Barss Corner; Eva (the late Gordon) MacRae, Victoria, B.C.; sister-in-law, Jean (Donald) Brown, Kemptown. The family is scattered from coast to coast and are involved in all sorts of interesting things. Wilena had 28 nieces, 27 nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She had followed their varied careers with interest as her family members followed her life with interest and support. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 3, in Valley United Church, Valley, Rev. Brian DeLong officiating. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery following the service. Family flowers only. Helen V. Main, 86, of West Alexander, died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, in Washington Hospital, after being in failing health for the past several years.
She was born March 16, 1922, in Marshall County, W.Va., a daughter of Lil Burn and Utia Mae Mahan Gittings, and had resided in the West Alexander area for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Main was a member of West Alexander United Methodist Church and had attended Triadelphia (W.Va.) High School.
She and her husband enjoyed square dancing as long as their health permitted.
On November 28, 1941, she married Glenn Reed Main, who died July 19, 1999.
Surviving are her primary caregivers, Charles E. and Donna Horr Dague of Valley Grove, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a son, John Reed Main, who died April 25, 1994; two sisters, Dorothy Horr and Jean Magale; and a brother, who died in infancy.
Mrs. Main was the last of her immediate family.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in West Alexander United Methodist Church, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, with the Rev. Linda Harrison officiating. OWATONNA ? Ethel Lillian Kunkel, 91, a resident of Morehouse Place of Owatonna, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Homestead Hospice House.
She was born July 2, 1920, in Sonningdale, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Charles and Matilda (Brooks) Schultz. Before her marriage she worked at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, Minn. She also worked in Oswego and Oregon City, Ore. She married Ross H. Kunkel on June 1, 1939, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Ripley, Minn. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd for 43 years. She and her husband, Ross, moved to Owatonna on Oct. 9, 1993, and have been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since that time.
Throughout the years, she worked at Lakeland Color Press and Bangs Printing. She was a 4-H leader, a bus driver, and a willing volunteer for various projects within the community and her church.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly (and Roy) Collette, of Owatonna; her son, Larry (and Marla) Kunkel, of Owatonna; five grandsons, Dean (and Danette) Collette, of New Berlin, Ill., Bradley (and Amy) Collette, of Ashland, Mo., David (and Kylene) Collette, of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Chay (and Roberta) Kunkel, of Duluth, Paul (and Nissa) Kunkel, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; seven great-grandchildren, Ben, Amanda, Alex, Ross, Noah, Kali, Kaija and Katie; her sister, Edith Hoar, of Newberg, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ross; one son, Robert; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday from 3-5 p.m. and at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Rosenau officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Homestead Hospice House, Inc.

ENHAUT - Beverly D. Krepps, 68, of 644 Highland Street, Enhaut, and formerly of Milroy, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Harrisburg Hospital, following an eight year battle with cancer.
Born May 1, 1938, in Milroy, she was the daughter of the late William Grover and Mary M. (McClenahan) Harmon. On June 16, 1968, she married Samuel Ray Krepps, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Gray of Enhaut; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Katherine M. McCloskey of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Doris I. Phillips of McAlisterville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam E. Hoar in 1984; and three brothers, Joseph W. Harmon in 1990, Thomas Harmon in 1993, and Roy Dean Harmon in 2005.
She had been a monitor at Armagh Elementary School, and worked at McDonald's in Lewistown. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Milroy.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1: 30 p.m., today Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, by the Rev. Robert L. Zorn. The viewing will begin one hour before the funeral. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Siglerville.

Anna Ellen Willis, 91, of Bay Township, died July 11, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Anna was born at home on April 26, 1920, in Burt Lake, the daughter of Harvey and Elizabeth Griswold and was raised in the Burt Lake area, attending the Country School and Pellston Schools.
Following school, Anna worked as a nurses aide at the Lockwood Hospital in Petoskey, which is where she met Wendell Willis. On Oct. 31, 1942, Anna married Wendell in Rolla, Mo., and together they made their home in Bay Township. Anna stayed at home for a time raising her children, but later went to work at Boyne Products, now United Technologies, and continued to work there for more than 25 years. Following her retirement, she worked for Honeywell Security for a time as a security guard.
Anna was an active person, and always had a helping heart. She volunteered at the senior center in Charlevoix and worked as a transporter for the Department of Human Services. She was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and enjoyed crafts, baking and decorating cakes, and traveling.
She is survived by four children, Dick (Pat) Willis, Carol Willis, Ron (Cindy) Willis, and John Willis; a sister, Mary Hoar of Laingsburg, Mich.; a brother, Harvey Griswold of Ohio; four grandsons; one granddaughter; nine great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell, in 1990; a daughter, Joyce; and by three brothers, Robert, Jim, and Sam; and by three sisters, Julia, Mabel, Ellen.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. Burial will be in the Dyer Cemetery in Bay Township.
Memorial donations in Anna's memory may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Michigan, the Boyne Area Medical Center or a charity of choice.

He was awarded the Purple Heart and a Silver Star from General Mark Clark. Mr. Griswold owned and operated Advanced Cleaning Service in Flint for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. He loved spending time at Burt Lake. Louise was born July 24, 1919, in Bliss, Mich., the daughter of Harry and Blanche (Cosens) Marshall. She was a 1937 graduate of Pellston High School.
She married Gerald Wollmartz July 5, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1989.
Louise retired from the Michigan Employment Security Commission.
She was noted for her many kindnesses to family and friends, including an extensive greeting card mailing list. She was a believer in thank-you notes, writing to all who had extended kindness to her during her recent illness and hospitalization.
Surviving are her children, Elizabeth (Roger) Christensen, Karen (Stephen) Opperman, Harry Theodore Wollmartz; grandchildren, Timothy Christensen, Molly (David) Mensch, Ronald (Megan) Opperman, Robert (Fatima) Opperman, Anji (Marc) Britten, Maggie Slabbekoorn; great-grandchildren, Claire and Sophie Mensch, Gabrielle and Heath Opperman, Lily and Isabelle Slabbekorn; sister, Jean Hoar, of Levering; several nieces, nephews and special friend and neighbor, Pearl Westen.
The funeral service took place at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 13, at the First Congregational Church in Rockford with pastor Laurie TenHave-Chapman officiating. Interment was in Englishville Cemetery, Sparta.

Our beloved mom, grandmother, sister and friend died at Bay Bluffs medical care facility on June 30, 2009. She had resided there for the past 10 months.
Isabel Ruth Marshall was born March 23, 1925, in Bliss, to Harry and Blanche Marshall. She grew up in Bliss and graduated from Pellston High school in 1942.
On Aug. 28, 1943, she married Wesley N. Potter in Saginaw, Mich. They had eight children and seven survive her. They are: Chuck Potter of Billings, Mont., Jeane (Jim) Mummert of Brutus, David Potter of Brutus, Barry Potter of Petoskey, Phyllis (Joe) Toms of Cicero, Ind., Bob Potter of Carp Lake, and Sue Potter of Kokomo, Ind. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, Jill Heil, Jackie (Dave) Gilbert, John (Marcella) and Mickey Potter, Stephanie Tapnio, Susan McGown, Michael Hamilton, Zachary (Lacy) White, Carrie (Larry) Collins, Robert Potter, and Caleb and Jessie Potter; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Wollmartz and Jean Hoar; as well as leaving behind Scout, her beloved Shiba Inu.
She was preceded in death by a son, Nelson "Nub" Potter, in 2004; two brothers, Ted and John Marshall; three half sisters, Lileth, Clarice and Marion; and by a half brother, Billy.
Isabel resided in Carp Lake and loved her community. She was a member of the Paradise Lake Association, Carp Lake Women's Club, and the Church of the Straits, where her church family was very important to her. She was a member of Pellston Tops 1481 and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan and rarely missed watching them play.
Isabel worked for 30 years at the Chippewa Motor Court in Mackinaw City and 27 years at Jordan's Marina in Carp Lake.
A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 20, at the Church of the Straits in Mackinaw City with pastor Matt Stoll officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service on July 20. Isabel's ashes will be buried in the Carp Lake Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the very caring and loving staff at Bay Bluffs.
